Everyone pretends that people just randomly decided to hate Jews. Jews never did anything wrong. It's so fucking stupid.

The biggest thing is Jews being blamed for killing Christ instead of the Romans. That, and the denying of Christ (and calling him a charlatan) is a big reason why people started hating Jews to begin with. After that they were an easy scapegoat, and hundreds of years of hatred tend to stick in the public consciousness.

It also has to do with the nature of Christianity. Jews became accountants and bankers because it was viewed as anti-Christian to pursue certain finance-related professions. Christ hated taxes and tax collectors, and people used to avoid those jobs because of it. So Jews became wealthy in those jobs instead of Christians. You can even see examples of that in Shakespeare (Shylock in the Merchant of Venice).

Jews in the US became injury attorneys, bankruptcy attorneys, and anything that didn't involve high profile criminal cases because they didn't get hired at big law firms in the 1800s/early 1900s (and the lawyers who weren't big trial lawyers were looked at as being lesser). Again, those kinds of law firms ended up being far more lucrative as time passed.

So overall, no, I really don't know what your issue is. I think Israel is a place of fucking horrors, but that's a movement which sees more support from American Christians than American jews (even financially). They do a bunch of horrid things in the Bible, but Christians also read the Old Testament and view themselves as descendants of those stories.
