Bingo. Even with an unrestricted conceal carry permit in NYC, this would have been a problem. Those permits are very difficult to get, and are given and maintained at the discretion of the NYPD. Even if he wasn't in violation of law, his permit could have been reviewed and revoked with a single police report, even if he was the one filing it.

I have been saying this from the beginning. There is so much fishy shit about Ant's firing. Like why was he going around taking pictures of scaffolding and black hookers in the first place. I think Anthony was told by Sirius that they were not going to re-sign him. So he came up with this plan to go out with a bang and get a lot of publicity for his podcast. Instead of just waiting until his contract is up and not getting re-signed.

Why does Opie resigning matter? I didn't say Sirius was not going to re-sign O&A. Just Anthony. They wanted to cut costs, and change the direction of the show. And they figured that Opie was the real heart of the show and could do just as good a job with just Opie and Jim. But for much less money.
