Opie's downfall into madness has been most fascinating. He is definitely separated from his wife and living elsewhere now. He has no friends. No job prospects. Nothing. All he's left with are his own thoughts and I think it's becoming harder and harder for him to separate reality from fiction. I would not be surprised if he is homeless a year from now.
The profundity of his comedic genius is truly earth-shattering. I haven't the words, nor, do I believe, does anyone else on this mortal plane, to convey linguistically how movingly funny Mr. Hughes is. He is truly one of worlds rare wonders and an intellectual giant.
