Worked a Eric Church concert a few months ago. His thing is "party country" but the music is still shite. His road crew and band members were cool as shit tho. Which is rare, for some reason the country guys seem to be the coolest.
Bro-country is harmless watered-down southern "rock", mild guitar pop aimed squarely at the lame escapist fantasies the bored soccer moms and their beer-swilling husbands who still buy CDs. Trucks, bars, beer, blue jeans, the beach, making love down at the ol' swimmin' hole and so forth. It's "rock and roll" for people who find rock music too scary and weird these days.
