The Craft of Trolling
91 2017-10-05 by Wolosocu
I see people like Vos, Materese, the Brothers Cumia all going back to the same gotos when it comes to trolls: they can't get laid, they live in their mom's basement, they have nothing else going on in their life. It's old and tired.
The problem is that these people don't understand the process that goes into trolling. It really is an art form. Civilians just see it as people being mean and they latch onto buzzwords like "cyberbullying". There's a lot more to it than people realize.
Maybe that's the fault of the trolls here. We don't spend enough time on here talking about "the craft of trolling". Maybe if we talked about it ad nauseam in the douchiest way possible, then people would see us for the geniuses that we really are. Then again, does it matter? After all, the only people who know if trolls are good trolls are other trolls. Civilians are clueless about what is and isn't good trolling.
What do you think, gang?

Ever consider locking yourself in a garage with your car running?
1 deanthecleanmachine 2017-10-05
I think you should kill yourself but what do I know? go to work, come home, go to bed
1 SpaceCaseBassFace 2017-10-05
Alright guys, suit up!
1 throwawaymanthrows 2017-10-05
The guys are over here talking about trolls. Listen pal, trolls live under bridges meanwhile I'm working bridge and tunnel. I've got my lunch pail and a container of coffee in happy.
1 CoyoteeBongwater 2017-10-05
Hold up, some of you moved out of your mom's basement? What the fuck are you doing here then
1 Bluesmoky 2017-10-05
Regular people don't understand the craft
1 CuckECheese 2017-10-05
I'm not a troll. I mean every word I say.
1 zenicaone 2017-10-05
I think he is confusing us with 4chan.
I am offended this is serious and intellectual news sub
1 PaintedPicture 2017-10-05
Have you looked in the mirror lately, Mr.Honesty?
1 CuckECheese 2017-10-05
I don't like to do that so I choose not to.
1 Bangunss 2017-10-05
The first rule of fightclub
1 ha_thats_funny 2017-10-05
Yeah it's like fight club except every character is meatloaf
1 fingerrockets 2017-10-05
Its Meatloafs all the way down.
1 GWARscientist 2017-10-05
Some would say it is a art.
1 StewartScoldedCumia 2017-10-05
But you rarely hear Attell, Colin, Norm, Stanhope, Chappelle, Rock, Burr, Louis, Patrice talk about the craft. The shittier you are as a comedian, the more likely you are to talk about the craft.
1 Aemon12 2017-10-05
Seinfeld is honestly a shit comic, and he talks about the craft all the time. He's made movies on it and HBO special talking funny. His show was great but because of Larry David.
1 sjeffiesjeff 2017-10-05
He's a very skilled comic but he's not funny. Guys like Matarese are neither.
1 breadmoccasin 2017-10-05
Seinfeld is a broker of funny. His standup isn't actually funny, but he knows what funny is, and more importantly, he knows what unfunny is.
You'd think Opie would be this way, through osmosis of being around funny people for 15+ years, but no, he's a fucking idiot. You wanna suck em?
1 HugininuM 2017-10-05
You could almost say he's some kind of comedy merchant.
1 TheDirtyWolfman 2017-10-05
He does hail from a watery city in Northern Italy...
1 TriangleDimes 2017-10-05
you have fallen into the trap of discussing the craft, now i have to turn my back on you.
1 HitEmWTheHeinnn 2017-10-05
They always talk about the craft of comedy. Seinfeld does it every interview.
1 dmix 2017-10-05
It's almost cliche from comedians to trash the idea of 'talking about craft'. This is definitely not the case, it's common knowledge that it's not an interesting subject to talk about.
1 SegaCKY 2017-10-05
Yeah, we really haven't heard Patrice talk about the craft in awhile.
1 fingerrockets 2017-10-05
Yeah he's taken his act underground.
1 hoohootellemkeith 2017-10-05
I’d rather troll the smaller, more intimate subs.
1 throwawaymanthrows 2017-10-05
It's cozier.
1 52017 2017-10-05
Shotguns aren't that expensive and you would only need one shell.
Just something to think about.
1 drunk8gods 2017-10-05
Always 2 shells. He seems like the kind of Proud Boy that'll flinch at the last second and only blow his lower jaw off. Need that insurance policy of a 2nd shell, always.
1 HitEmWTheHeinnn 2017-10-05
It's that moment when you know you've gotten under their skin. I was a jerky boys fan when I was around 13 and really enjoy that moment when a person flips from: wtf? To: I HOPE YOU DIE MOTHER FUCKER!!!
1 Dagidugidai 2017-10-05
I don't think people understood what a tragedy it was when LiberalsAreMentallyIll quit trolling. He was far ahead of his time. Now there's people in every city doing his whole act, and he gets no credit.
1 humanmeat 2017-10-05
Ignore all the negative feedback here, they're just trolls.
Stick with it, I think you got a winner here
1 lord_minidisc 2017-10-05
I agree, and I hope to address some of your concerns in my forthcoming video podcast, Trolls in Cars Getting Sound Bars.
1 TacoTrots 2017-10-05
Wait...am I really the only unemployed virgin living in my Mom's basement?
1 Icon_Crash 2017-10-05
Where do you live? I bet I can put a good word into your local Panera if you'd like. I've got connections.
1 ssss681 2017-10-05
Just cuz' it's old and tired doesn't mean it's not true.
1 satanssockpuppet 2017-10-05
You're breaking kayfabe, man.
1 ChippusMaximus 2017-10-05
I consider myself a mature troll who's been around the web. Seen many tragedies mocked, lives ruined, employers called, social media accounts destroyed. 20 years in the business. I can do this shit in my sleep with a 56k connection. Your 3 year old memes don't even register to me. I am a Troll's Troll if you will.
1 Icon_Crash 2017-10-05
56k? Newb. You're not a real troll unless you had to put a handset into a cradle to connect online.
1 LigamentKeed 2017-10-05
1200 baud or GTFO
1 Icon_Crash 2017-10-05
1200? Hey there rich kid. 300 is just fine for me. Anything over 300 and you have to get your phone line checked for noise.

Trolling only works when you anger the target.
1 DeepStateAgent 2017-10-05
A girl wrote this. I'm just trolling. I'm not.

Most of us are British anyway and we don't generally even have basements, so they've embarrassed themselves there.
1 Icon_Crash 2017-10-05
British, dead from Kratom, or in jail for a soundbar theft gone wrong.
1 Rock-Coat 2017-10-05
In Iceland the Craft of Trolling is a little different and involves large wooden traps, sharpened stakes and using Midgets as bait. Also we dont live in our Moms basement as thats where we keep our sex slaves chained. Little differences but I get the cultural references in your post.

1 StuntPeckah 2017-10-05
I've been trolling since I was 18. I don't really like to spend a lot of time talking about my craft. I prefer to just show up and let it flow, like Brando.
1 fingerrockets 2017-10-05
Im more of a "method" troller and I dont drop character untill the target is at least confused sexually.
1 i_dont_give_a_care 2017-10-05
Adults using the word "troll" in this context makes me sick.
