Jimmy can be funny on stage and is widely known as a stand up.
Joe is a complete fucking travesty and shouldn't be allowed near the stage. The fact no one in the o&a universe never really shit on him shows that he must has Opie level thin skin.
It's partly because Rogan doesn't perform much in NY anymore and hasn't for years, so a lot of the guys just aren't familiar with his yelling onstage/standup.
It's also maybe because Rogan is seen as a supporter of other comics, not just for the Mencia thing.
And LA comics are more interested in which social groups they're part of than if their jokes are funny. It's more important to suck up to the right people and never be negative or divisive.
They just wanna chill out and have a nice hang smokin weed and talking about how much better the world would be if everyone was just like them.
This explains how Tony Hinchcliff is somehow regarded as a good comedian. He lets Rogan bugger his bum a few times a year and they expect us civilians to think he's funny.
Joe Rogan is okay, and I think he's aware of that, which is why he has his podcast and stuff. He's great on that. He's not a great stand up, he has his moments, but he really shines takin big fawkin pekcahs on thee otha side of tha glory whole.
Jim is enjoyable live when he can interact with a crowd.
Rogan is basically a rich guy who does stand up as a hobby and excuse to hang out with his friends on the road. He's like when an actor is in a rock band for fun.
I used to listen to him on radio in the late 90s and he was always promoting his stand up shows. I remember him promoting Fear Factor and saying it'll probably get cancelled within the first season, he had no clue that show would blow up.

That's weird, I would have thought the complete opposite of Jim.

well shit Jimmy has to make fun of his own genitals on stage to get laughs and doesn't make anywhere near as much a Schumer.

Because having Joe on your side is good business. The same way nobody wants to say Big Amy is a thief.

Most stand up comedy sucks to be honest. I'll listen to Bob Kelly and Rich Vos talk shit all day, but would I go see them live? No fucking way.

As someone else stated here earlier, Jim is good in small clubs. TV Specials? Not so much...

Jimmy was a funny stand-up. Go watch please be offended again.
He's become an insufferable bore in his old age though.
