yes, because satellite was uncensored. comedy central would have cut stuff like Patrice asking Gallagher "do you think nigger farts are contributing to global warming?"
there would have been less comics sitting in, so Ant and Opie would have turned on each other much faster.
Opie and Anthony were popular and syndicated well before satellite radio. Alot of posters here think that the show got "big" when it came on to their own personal radars.
Nobody knows about Opie & Anthony because Patrice asked Gallagher about nigger farts.
They know Opie & Anthony because those are the "Sex in the church guys" which BTW went down at the height of their popularity, in 2002.
The first I ever heard O&A was Ant doing the Dice "i'm over here now" bit, I had no clue who O&A or Dice was but it was just inherently funny. It was years later I "refound" them on youtube as I have never had XM/sirius, I just wish I found them sooner and actually got to listen to them while the show was in its heyday
Opie and Anthony existed before and after Tough Crowd. It was just coincidence that O&A had the couple year period where they were off the air, while Tough crowd was on.
If Tough Crowd was never cancelled, Jim might not have gone back to everyday O&A, and his career would be completely different.

Yes. Tough Crowd was cancelled a month after they came to XM. If it was never cancelled Anthony wouldve probably been invited on eventually.

I could have sworn he did the show once. Maybe I'm wrong though.

I found out about them in the early 2000's by Stern mentioning them.

I found out about black people being savages by Anthony tweeting about them.
