I heard Opie is working on a new podcast venture that Stuntbrain will be producing/managing

I think it's called the Opie Network (working title, don't hold me to this) and it's basically an "in your face" frat style podcasting network. Basically like a more badass Stern. Might have to check it out.

If he did try some hair brained scheme like this. He should probably drop the "Opie" schtick. It's not a brand anymore. It has zero draw. Now is his chance for a "clean slate" even though this place would still be up his ass. His ego won't allow it so he will continue to ride this shitty Andy Griffith reference to the grave. This fucker is going to have "Opie" on his tombstone.

Calling this bluff now.

Opie is too lazy and stupid to start anything himself. That means he would have to pay someone to do it for him, which is never going to happen. Opie is not going to pay someone out of his own pocket to build a podcast network for him.

The real reason Opie would never start a podcast is because he knows he could never pull the numbahs like rogan or maron to cover what he was making at Sirius, so hes trying to find a sucker to give him an inflated deal based solely on his name. Too bad the industry is dead.

Opie is too insecure to put anything new out there or try a different platform because he knows that he’s not talented enough to come up with anything original and not funny enough to put out a “run of the mill” podcast that will be successful.

It’s much easier to make excuses, clown on other shit, and act like he’s too cool/successful/busy with other stuff to try anything.
