I read this book recently, and it will put things into perspective for you. As gay as the Proud Boys are, you should try to get yourself involved with a similar sort of idea, like a Rotary Club.
Whenever I go back east to visit, all of my friends have 2 cars, 4 bedroom houses, land on the lake, snowmobiles, etc. Im just like "Wow, Im not doing...well..."
My one bedroom apartment in LA costs more than their mortgage.
I'd rather live in an one bedroom apartment in LA than a 4 bedroom cookie-cutter out in the far-flung exurbs. Not assuming that is the case with your friends because I have no idea where your friends live, I'm just using it as an example because it all relative. I bought a small apartment in lower Manhattan a few years ago & for the money I spent, I probably could've bought a mansion on 3 archers in a state like Oklahoma but then I'd actually have to live in Oklahoma.
