I forget but it was one of the hardest I ever laughed at something he said. My favorite is how excited he is to read those notes Sam or whoever is obviously handing him. He steamrolls over everyone with them.

He was funny because he wasn't (and still isn't) a radio personality. He was an amazing shit stirrer, and could be funny in small doses when he was either sarcastically describing Scorch or fucking around with the interns. He's just not interesting or funny enough to be a co-host of a show. He needs to be striking from the shadows like the little weasel that he is.

On o&a hr was coming up with shit for the show to please his daddy opie Sr and ant was there to put him in his place when he tried to get cocky. On Jim and Sam, he now thinks he's a mega star and Jim just let's it go because he's texting his bf in Oslo or eating eggs while the show is on.

It's so weird. For someone who finally made it and depends on keeping this job he shows very little ambition and lacks vision on what do with the show. We all know Jim doesn't care he just collects paychecks as long as he can and he has enough money to coast to his death. But Sam will be back doing overnights once this show is done.

He is really good at riffing with Jim when it's something bitchy and gossipy that they both find funny. Sam was genuinely hilarious in that clip of them talking about how Erock looks like Brendan Dassey. But his lack of life experience and natural smarminess hurts the show, especially when Jim is checked out. Jim & Sam was really great for the first couple months but it hasn't developed well.

Sam isn't Opie-level bad, because he can at least communicate with people in the studio. Sam's biggest problem is he has limited interests and overstates whatever subject he is discussing until you're tired just listening to his shrill voice.

When Jimmy said the Kiss "Christmas" layout was his favorite rock picture spread of all time, Sam's obnoxious laugh actually made me laugh. It reminded me of the days when he just mostly hung back in the shadows, like Mr Sinister from X Men, stirring shit and pulling the strings of retards like Bobo and Intern David. For a brief moment, it harkened back to the Sam I used to really like.
