The Mohawk tribe in Ontario are rich as fuck and are regarded by the rest of the tribes as their trump card against the federal government because the Mohawk have been practically begging for an excuse to go militant. They're the guys who, in the 80's and 90's, used to weapon-up, block public roads and face down the military whenever they wanted something.
This is basically how the natives here in Canada are too. Pretty sure this native lives in Halifax and is a known social justice activist, not a reservation type where the kids siphon gasoline in plastic bags for fun.
They weren't they heard about some protest against a statue and came to defend the famous soldier it depicts. Then they left after 10min and nothing happened.
This is a non-story... besides the complete over-reaction by the military leaders, you'd think they engaged in some awful hate crime if you read the quotes by their army bosses.
