Automation is gonna make your job obsolete and having to negotiate these interpersonal exchanges is going to be a distant memory". Then he really concisely explained how this doesn't affect him at all, that he doesn't have any vested interest in delivering food to people, and that once automation occurs he "can order pizza, or you know ....nice food" at a fraction of the current cost. All I was left with was ".......just gimme the food ok?".

Totally expected that to be a crushing disappointment. Pleasantly surprised! A smile from the chippah Is your reward!
