Patrice is overly respected for his intelligence since he died but the one thing I will always miss is his opinion on movies and relationships. You could tell Patrice had a deep love for movies through all his other bullshit.
Of course Opie can't explain why Planet of the Apes was bad. That's just what everyone else was saying at the time so he copied it. All of his opinions were 'people said that Marky Mark was bad'.
I liked it as a dumb youth and I rewatched it again recently and it really wasn't that bad at all. The slave thing was a funny dynamic and it wasn't annoyingly melodramatic like most hollywood films. Paul Giamatti played the beta dirtbag slavemaster role perfect.
It wasn't good but it's far from bad. There are way worse movies than that.
I got incredibly high and listened to this entire thing earlier and even with everything I know about Opie I was still amazed by how aggressive he was on asserting the opinion that, no matter what movie or actor they were discussing, x actor played "themselves" and it removed him from the movie. According to Opie, every actor that acted was just doin' them again! Opie is a faggot with fat tits and I'm going to fuck his awful 4/10 wife
