Fuck yes. I'll listen to the shit out of this tomorrow.

Awesome thanks

learning history from podcasts rather than books

am i really the only brain on this board?

I know right? These fags probably can't even read the Bellum Gallicum in the original Latin, what fucking plebs.

This isn't a board. It is a sub-Reddit. You asshat

Check out the big brain on Brett

This is how you can tell someone is stupid as fuck. Reading and listening to material both gets the information to your brain in roughly the same way. It just depends on what type of learner you are and what works better for you. "I read" doesn't make you smart. If it did, every ditzy broad who read all of the Twilight and Shades of Grey books would be fucking brilliant.

Brain on the brink or sumtin a'suh suh

Brink.

hey Bri guy come back to discord

Dan Bobo Carlin

Awesome. Cool to see Dan finally cover the greatest General in history.

What a fucking gay comment.

You fellas like this stuff too? I didn't know we could be people here, good to know.

Julius got a small fawkin peckah

You can't. This is a place of bitterness and laughter.

I think this sub is everyone trying in their own way to be a person.

By trying to relate to others in our own autistic ways: shitting on a fat-titted, fired, millionaire. His old co-host who lost his flair years ago, or the comedian who is the only one amongst his peers not to have either much success, nor respect.

The laughs and jokes are a way to stifle the sadness, and bury it deep down. A hollow existence, but still an existence of sorts, till we all cum on a cracker, and shove it up your mom's box..

Awesome. I still need to finish the nuclear one.

Psssh the opester could do these no problem he's just more of a math and sciences guy

He could've been a model!

This subreddit finally contributed something useful.

I also found the Serial Killer series on "Last Podcast on the Left" from someone here. These are filling the void nicely.

I enjoy the content on that show but the fake laughing sometimes reaches Opie Radio levels.

Oh god yes, it's that one guy who doesn't talk much, he always laughs at the fat guys jokes wayy too hard. And the fat guy does the most unfunny "funny" voice, and he uses the same voice for every character, and the other guy laughs and laughs. The fat dude is also an SJW anti-trump fag on Twitter.

But still the content they put together for the show more than makes up for the fat guy. And the tall guy is pretty funny sometimes.

What are some good episodes of that to get started on.

The Richard Ramirez show is Opie Raqio

I thought so at first too, I'd be the first one to hate them, but once you get used to how they talk it's not bad at all.

Ben (tall guy) is definitely their Opie.

Eh, I don't the different guys that well but the only one I hate is the fat guy who does the voices.

This has not sounded like a resounding endorsement

Well I've listened to like 20-25 episodes already and I only discovered it 2 months ago. So I'm a pretty big fan of the show.

But only the various "big hitter" serial killer series, which is most of them. They also do some conspiracy and ghost stuff which I avoid like herpes.

And re: the fat guy, I listened to O&A for years even though the show had an 'Opie'. Same deal here basically.

YOU DONT REARISE WHAT I BRING TO FRIENDSHIP!

They did a four-parter on Dean Corll. That guy is probably the most fucked up SK I have ever come across.

Dean Corll.

Havent heard this one yet, I'll listen to that next after I get through Timothy Mcveigh.

BOR-ING!

Did he specifically touch on the Gallic Wars? I can't remember. Wiki summary sounds pretty juicy: millions dead, nearly a thousand cities destroyed.

Yep Alesia and all that.

I just listened to the death throes of the republic again last week. The amount of time devoted to the celts in dtotr is like a Wikipedia blurb on the subject, while this episode is the definitive 1000-page history. Not a fair judgement friend-o.

Shows the reason i have a history degree, i have high standards

Oof

ME: I have a fawkin doctorate in math dvvv dvvv

Damn. I'd hoped he stay more contemporary, that last one about the nuclear age might be my favorite episode he's ever done. Ancient history doesn't do much for me.

DC could read the Yellow Pages for twelve hours and make it riveting.

The series he did on Genghis Khan is fascinating.

Genghis Khan was ok. Im just a 20th Century history nut and I love Carlin's take on stuff, I wish he'd hit on it more.

The Kennedy PT 109 story he told that last episode was fucking insane, one of the craziest war stories Ive ever heard. That guy was super human. Someone should remake that into a movie.

I listened to every single part of ww1 series

Wow!

Download "command and control" its way more indepth and more nightmarish.

I'm the same way about most way back stuff, like the Greeks or the Huns but the Romans just seem so modern to me.

I'm right there with you. I don't really give a fuck about Caesar and it's sort of iffy to begin with since he wrote most of his shit.

That said I'm still listening to it and enjoying it, but the more modern ones are my fave.

First of all, why the fuck would you post this here? Secondly, fuck yes, he's finally back to doing white people history.

A lot of people here are fans. Two or three HH episodes get released every year (if we're lucky), and they get a shout-out. Greatest audio program in existence. Most of the figures that get talked about here are in the audio field. It's all connected.

How are we supposed to make fun of Gauls and call them a buch of fags if we know nothing about them?

OH MY GAEL!

I'm subscribed to over 50 podcasts and every single one is better than Jim and Sam or any Compound show. Entertainment is not hard to find.

Tsss the Celtic holocaust? What were they playing the Lakers or somethin tsss.. I'm just chippin ya.

This isn't gay porn you fucking nerd.

His "Countdown to Armageddon" series about World War One is pretty awesome.

Oh god yes, it's that one guy who doesn't talk much, he always laughs at the fat guys jokes wayy too hard.
