New listener

Couple months ago I started listening to old O and A show on YouTube out of curiosity because I also enjoy the Howard Stern show and never understood the rivalry. Anyways I found this place from listening to the show and have been reading all of your posts for the past couple weeks without actually commenting...I feel like Martin Sheen at the end of apocalypse now when he gets to the end of the river. Things will never be the same because of all of you

Get out while you can.

Also now that this place has pointed out all of Opie's flaws I can't help but see how much he truly ruined potentially great radio segments in just about every clip I've listened too. I also realize I've found comfort in reading this place that there are people out there just as psychologically demented as me.

Yeah, you fucked up. Most of us got a solid decade before Opie's shit was pointed out and the show was ruined. There's no coming back once you know what to listen for.

I don't necessarily agree with all the opie hate...yea he could be annoying at times, but so we're ants rants and jimmys trans stuff. I started listening in 2002, while they were doing the crossover, and I enjoyed all three of them up until the end. There was a perfect mix of personalities on the show, and it was just great radio.

Same here. I think when you actively seek out bad moments you're going to run into a lot of them from anyone on the show. I think between the cake stomp and ant getting fired, a few severely tormented people started the whole opie obsession that now plagues this board and every comment section on youtube.
Personally I'm really tired of it, but I try not to engage and just enjoy the show.

If you're catching up on shows, I'll recommend the Dr. Z show and The Mel Gibson tapes with Patrice.

I started clapping in my car when I heard the Dr Z segment with Patrice. So far the funniest segments to me have been Grocery Man and the segment where Patrice makes up the names to Syfy movies. Recently listened to Bobo segments and the best one to me so far is where he sings meet the Mets and bangs pots and pans. I need recommendations for more bobo and Patrice segments

Bobo vs the Virus is a great one. Fugitive Bobo.

The up and down game with colin, patrice, and the boys is a great bobo ep.

Breaking bobo's heart was good
Also, the intern David saga, and the up/down game.

Tequila and Doughnut Day. It's one of the top to bottom best shows they ever did.

Also watch the Louis CK appearances. The first 25-30 are hilarious. After that, Louie started to become famous, and then the appearance just became interviews about Louie's projects.

Lady di intern week. Start with the return of Lady Di and Marion though. And then end it with lady di calling from the navy. Its amazing.

If you want absolute bliss, check out the Nopie archive. Some people don't like it when there's no direction, but listening to Ant, Jim and the producers talk about anything from TV shows to news clips is comfy.
