He can't rant about his confused old man phone issues & praise Crash within the span of one week - those are the two biggest indicators of how dumb he really is & I prefer my reminders to be spread out over the span of a couple months.

Jimmy has a taste for mediocre films. Isn't Q&A one his favourites? Ok, Nolte is great in it but he's usually good in everything. And Armand Assante is decent. But there are long stretches of it that are just boring. And you're asked to believe Timothy Hutton is a tough, no nonsense Irish cop who threatens mafia members to their faces. The guy looks like a pussy. He just likes it because there are trannies in it.
I liked the movie, it was the pussy liberal who killed an unarmed black dude and a racist type of person who risked his life to save a black woman. Really don't get why it is so hated by people on here
It was ok but the "don't judge a book by its cover" in every character and every subplot was over the top - the 2 examples you mentioned, the whole dumb story with the Iranian store owner/Mexican alarm guy and his daughter, Don Cheadle and his gang banging, ice hockey loving brother; Ludacris freeing the Asian slaves etc etc.
I quite liked it when it came out but was like 20 years old at the time. It's not bad but it's a ham fisted Hollywood attempt at saying something interesting or controversial about American race relations. I think the antipathy against it on this sub comes from Norton's insistence that it's some kind of masterpiece. It's not.
Jimmy doesn't want to be influenced, he needs to protect his unique mind where the magic just happens - no need for inspiration or anything interesting for that boy, he can just talk! (eg J&S show brilliance)
