Have you ever noticed Opie was never really that good at radio?

I know I'll probably get down voted for this, but Opie honestly never really made me laugh as much as the others did. Have any other of you noticed that or am I just being a bit of a crumudgeon?

But Opie isn't supposed to be funny, he is the helmsman, the one who steers the ship away from the funny and into the iceberg.

Have you ever thought to yourself "hey, this is funny, joke after joke being fired off, seems like I might die of laughter today"? Opie is the "man" who saved your life countless times by moving away from the funny subject and right into this type of cookie he's obsessed with. He was an integral part of the show.
