Didn't matter if it was a whole summer, caddying isn't exactly scrubbing shit off toilets. Especially when the wop contractors you caddy for convince you they're in the mafia.

They probably didn't even ever hint they were mafia. Opie being an upper middle class white boy probably saw they were olive skinned and had black hair and just assumed they had to be Italian and if they were Italian then they had to be mafia.
Bet if you contact someone from that country club about their membership in the mid 70's they'll say they had a couple of greek members to fill a quota and keep from being fined. And to Opie, Italians and Greeks are the same.
