I know people like to blame Carlin and Hicks for this shit, but I don't think that was there intent. Carlin flat out said that he didn't give a shit and wanted to watch the human species circle the drain. Hicks basically said the same thing before he faked his death and became Alex Jones.

I think patient zero is the first comedian to become famous by looking at what Carlin and Hicks did and deciding that it was more important to make people think than make them laugh. Who was that piece of shit?
