Opie is completely falling apart and is lashing out at other SiriusXM employees, and the company can not tolerate that.

It's likely shareholders pay attention to their talent pool so it could look bad if their #2 shock jock show totally shut down after Ant left. So that gave him some extra leeway to work with even when his numbers dropped.

Shareholders can't complain about serious HR disputes with a guy like Roland who books celebrities for multiple shows when they shut down the show.

I think the fact that Gregg broke NY State labor laws will ensure they don't pay him another dime. It may even be a clause in his contract. I don't really care enough to argue it further.

He was fired for filming an employee in a bathroom. That's against NY. State labor laws. He put Sirius into a precarious position for lawsuits by Roland - and the laws specifically make it easier for a victim to get paid. This would be a firing offense in any company in NY State. The part I'm wondering is if they have to report it - the article I posted later in the thread says that if audio is captured, that's automatically a felony, and they may have to report it to the police when they learn of it. These things take time for the lawyers to work through, to get to the point they fire someone. They're now in a position where everything might be taken as evidence in a lawsuit, or criminal court. You don't move fast, you cross your t's and dot your i's. I'm sure there have been many meetings with lawyers, possibly with lawyers representing Roland, and them getting all the info they can on the case, before moving.

And as automation becomes a huge issue and will cause an employment crisis in the next 2 years, it is absolutely necessary to prevent people from starving.

The amount varies by proposal, but some are as low as $2,000-$3,000 a month in free money while most recommend at least $50,000 to pay a livable wage. The best part is that this is all paid for by additional taxation on the richest 1% who are hording their welcome, stagnating wages, and causing economic depression with all of the power they have accumulated.

The vast majority of people support Basic Income and it is on target to be the top issue in the 2018 midterms. Unfortunately there are a lot of absolutely retarted people out there that will vote against their own best interests and free money. These people are to extreme to be taking seriously and need to be fought against.

Especially when it always seemed like Jimmy was the one who was more interested in doing movies and becoming a bigger star in Hollywood. Eh in showbiz it comes down to talent and money. He could get away with all three of those if he was a big deal like Howard.

It likely came down to his show's popularity declining and losing both co-hosts (and his talent booker and show producers last year) which makes his show hard to market. He just became too much of a burden and liability which his stature no longer compensates for.

Yeah I thought about the second shot thing. I just think it's more likely that it was more a matter of cut-and-dried numbers. Not all businessmen are interested in putting out the best products they can. Not by a long shot. And a lot of them make big decisions for their own career reasons.

What if it's generally considered bad for investor confidence to shrink a company (opie is one of very few known radio talents left, and radio is their industry) to just let go of one, if they were considered, in strict economical terms, an asset? Maybe they were just waiting for a good-enough excuse. And one involving a fat man's feces was perfect.
