Sherrod overslept, so there is no live show today? That's hilarious. Opie really needs to just tweet that, after sixty years in the business, he can't do a few minutes of radio by himself.
I've been listening to Di Paulo's show, and it's a funny comparison with Opie.
Nick's not by himself exactly, he does have a couple of guys who are usually quiet but occasionally chiming in here and there, and he takes a lot of calls, a lot of ass kissers of the show, but generally, he's doing it all on his own, and doing a pretty good job of filling 2 hours.
Yeah, Nick succeeds everywhere that Opie fails. Sure, Nick takes some ass kiss phone calls, but he also isn't afraid to take calls from people who disagree with him. And when he does, he can make it entertaining without just yelling in a fake retarded voice. He can actually have a conversation with people who disagree with him.
Nick may overuse his soundboard, but I have been enjoying his show.
