Opie was, and is, actually more racist than Anthony.

Anthony's at least part black, so his virulent hatred of the moolies is really a self-loathing thing. Anthony got on like a house on fire with T.I in one of the last good celeb interviews on O&A - https://youtu.be/dyBg-XFnbEE Just a couple of brothers hangin out and kickin it - nah wat i mean? Anthony and Patrice had real conversations and, despite not always agreeing, the fact that they liked each other came across. Anthony also welcomed him into his home.

Opie confused Ice-T with Ice Cube, in an appalling display of "they all look the same to me." He was never at ease with Patrice, evinced by his confession in the RIP Patrice show that he was afraid of him for the first year he knew him. He often talked down to black guests, be they regulars like Patrice or Keith, stars like Tyson or thinkers like NDT. He would, frequently and condescendingly, unwittingly add "a bit of jive" whenever he spoke to them, as if they wouldn't be able to understand him otherwise.

Tl:Dr - It's my opinion that Opie is a closet racist whose bigotry, if openly exposed, would put Anthony to shame.

He is just smart enough not to talk about it publicly. Most people are.

He was awkward and uncomfortable around Patrice. That is well documented.

It is well documented that they used to talk on the phone for hours and make each other howl with laughter. Sniff. Sniff. Period.

Isn't it funny how they barely spoke to eachother on the show even when they were in the same room for like 3-4 hours at a time?

No. It's not funny.

It was a blessed relief from another "Hold on hold on Holed Onnah....I got the game" or how he expressed his jealously over how Patrice would take over the conversation.

Opie only has Sherrod around so he can have his own version of Robin.

"A bit of jive" lol
