Jim has the biggest gap between how smart they think they are and how smart they really are.

Not to get all Socratic on you but Opie knows he's stupid and that makes him the smartest. The other two, Ant especially, is the worst kind of stupid- thinks they're smart.

College degrees=education, not intelligence. When he;s not blacked out drunk, or obsessed with race and guns, Anthony probably can speak at length and reasonably well on more topics than either of the others. Opie is a dumbass in all mannner, owing mainly to the mental illness he has clearly inherited from Mom. And sweet Jim cares only for Kiss, Sabbath, the art of comedy and jerking off.

Yes, I was amazed at the amounts of morons at university, including me.

Opie was really good at math and science and probably could have been a doctor. Jim has some mental capacity to write "jokes" and memorize his material, but is not incredibly bright. Anthony seems to know things about a lot of different subjects but is no real expert on anything...a jack of all trades but master of none as it were.

Anthony is probably the smartest but his alcoholism is diminishing his mental capacity.

Anthony is the smartest, but the fans have gassed him up to think that he is smarter than he is. Also, aside from a few subjects, his is a google/television education that doesn't have the depth he thinks it does. You can see this sometimes when he gets into debates with other people, a deer in the headlights thing happens.

2) Jimmy is inquisitive, which is a good thing. But his tendency to flip flop and recast things to fit in his opinion of the moment is annoying. I think Jimmy has the capacity to be smarter than Opie, but there is a childlike nature to him, in the way he is interested, then dis -interested, and temper tantrumy.

I think you are being kind to Opie and I'm not just saying that because I dislike him. I think he is a genuinely stupid man. Anyone of average intelligence who has been on the radio for 20 years would occasionally say something interesting or smart and he has done neither.

I actually don't hate him and I'm of the view that the group needed him to produce the show. However I think he is a very cruel man, and weirdly humourless.

In a way he reminds me of a classic psychopath. He doesn't understand that other people have emotions and don't mind trampling them, he seem to sort of pick up on things via the reactions of others. Like emotions. A little bit like Trump maybe. He understands that people laugh when stuff is funny, but I genuinely don't think he understands what is funny. This is also the true mark of a psychopath. They study peoples emotions so they can fake them.

Anthony usually had the most intelligent interview questions and was usually able to speak with some degree of knowledge on science or technical topics.

Obviously they are equally limited but in their own individual ways.
