Just watching War Machine on Netflix.

Holy shit, is Brad Pitt just a terrible actor. I mean really bad. When was the last time he was passable in a movie? Fight Club? Seven? He's Tommy Wiseau level awful, except not as funny.

I know, he's terrible in everything except Fight Club.

12 monkeys ?

Perhaps, I really didn't understand it in 1996. Just watched War Machine an that was enjoyable

I'm going to have to say fuck you Sir and point you in the direction of "Killing Them Softly"

I haven't seen it but it was directed by the same guy who directed The Assassination Of Jesse James... Pitt was mediocre in that but the film was great. Affleck's brother, the cinematography, script and supporting cast - Rockwell, Shepard etc - were excellent.

I'll give it go - Gandolfini's in it. Please tell me only Pitt stinks and it's got some saving graces.

Gandofini kills it, probably his best role beyond the obvious. Plus sold performance from the chemically burned Ray Liotta and Ben mendelsohn. Pitts character is understated and non cartoonish so he shouldn't grate.

Gandolfini was great in The Drop. Outshone by Hardy but he played the antithesis of Tony Soprano - a pathetic mob guy who used to be the shit but was now a zero. If you haven't seen that movie yet, do. Now. I'll watch Killing Them Softly tomorrow night. Mendelsohn was sick in Bloodline - v talented actor.

Yeah The Drop was good shit. Very low key performance from Tom Hardy, you just don't realize how bad ass he is at first and even when he ramps it up he is still quiet about it all. Gandolfini was good in it as well.

Don't know if it was just the mood I was in -whatever- but completely suspended disbelief when I watched that movie, took it as it came and didn't see the twist coming. One of my favorite films of the last 5 years.

"The Drop" was great, the guy that played the Chechen mob boss could do with his own spin off. Mendelsohn was in "A Place Beyond The Pines" another decent movies.

That movie sucked balls

True Romance was his last good flick.

Ruined inglorious basterds

The weakest of Tarantino's films imo. Not just because wooden Brad was the star.

Christoph waltz performance and the opening scene alone carry it

Every scene Waltz was in was the best part of the movie. Unfortunately, for me anyway, it wasn't enough to distract from Pitt's shitting acting and the overall childishness of the script.

Django was also a juvenile screenplay, but my grandfather fought in WW2. So I felt a selfish but truthful responsibility/connection to Basterds that I didn't feel to the slave film. Which, from my perspective, was pure fun.

I found it hard to believe that a French farmer would speak fluent English in 1940. German was more common as a second language at that time. What university did he go to? Also, the Waffen-SS was full of non-Germans in 1944. It wouldn't have been strange for one of them to speak with an accent.

I never was all that into the Kill Bills, but I do agree that Brad sucked a big fat cock in IB.

I think he was good for Inglorious Basterds because of the scene where he had to act poorly. I can't think of a better actor for that role.

He was great in 12 Monkeys

He's servicable in the ocean's eleven movies, and he was ok in fury.

Shia La Boeuf was the best part of that movie. It's a shame he's such an annoying, whiny dickhead in real life because the boy's a fucking talented actor when he wants to be.

The dude who played the Punisher killed it as well.

I think Shia was passed around as a child and its fucked his brain.

River Phoenix was too and it didn't affect him negatively...oh, wait.

Shia was 'acting' so hard in that movie its retarded - wow what commitment you didn't shower for months to make it feel like you really were a tanker in the Ruhr in 45.. pretentious shit to share in interviews.

What's in the boooox?!

Seven Years in Tibet

I just rewatched Moneyball and wasnt passable as a GM for a second

He was good in Fight CLub

Killin nahtzees! God that character was so fucking stupid.

Nice to see a movie that shits on Barry O for being the glamour-seeking amateur that he is. Pitt is best as a supporting actor, not a lead.

He's a beautiful man, but I never cared for him as an actor. I generally avoid movies he's in. But he was great in 12 monkeys.
