Doug Stanhope: Beer Hall Putsch
n/a Bushmage 2017-05-21
do you put this above or below No Refunds (one of my favorite specials ever)
n/a logicunt 2017-05-21
I would put it a notch below No Refunds.
It is still vurry good, brothaman. Just grab some grapefruit brewskis, sit back and enjoy.
n/a Bushmage 2017-05-21
a shot of kratom for the good advice, friend
n/a AiCPearlJam 2017-05-21
And two notches below "Before Turning thr Gun on Himself", which has the best bit he's ever done about the economic black hooker who uses her asshole to suckle on a muthafuckin carrot.

Netflix added canned laughter.

Most, if not all, have canned laughter
n/a GiygasFetus 2017-05-21
Anything by Stanhope. He is the only comedian I can really enjoy these days.
n/a SpaceCaseBassFace 2017-05-21
His audio book for digging up mother is great too.
n/a Gushers4Lunch 2017-05-21
Bill Burr - Why Do I Do This? Jim Norton - Despicable Norm Macdonald - Me Doing Stand up
n/a NortheastPhilly 2017-05-21
I think any special by Jeselnik is really fucking good
n/a TheGhostOfAbeVigoda 2017-05-21
I don't ever see him mentioned here, but I think both of the Tom Segura specials on Netflix are pretty great. Don't let his friendship with Bert Kreischer fool you, he's a funny guy.
n/a Proudofyourboy 2017-05-21
His second special was dog shit. His wife is a disgusting person both physically and mentally.
n/a GeMigMat 2017-05-21
I heard the leather special received unwarranted criticism
n/a holdon_holdon_holdon 2017-05-21
i lol'ed when she said her pussy stunk
n/a GeMigMat 2017-05-21
That's more of a pretty girl thing to say. I don't need to hear about Linebacker-Amy's smelly vagina
n/a holdon_holdon_holdon 2017-05-21
exactly, there's no punch line. everyone already knew it stunk just by looking at her.
n/a TheGhostOfAbeVigoda 2017-05-21
It's not a special, but it's worth seeing. Here's veteran comedy heavyweight, Michael Richards delivering a legendary, high-energy set at the Laugh Factory.

That's the one where he developed his beloved and often quoted tagline
n/a holdon_holdon_holdon 2017-05-21
I steal material from that set all the time.

Skanks for the Memories
And
Do You Believe in Gosh?
n/a Leonard_Betts 2017-05-21
Skanks for the memories is a a timeless masterpiece i listen to it every few months and it is still hilarious every single time.
n/a dannygunz 2017-05-21
I do the same thing for Your Mouth's Not Pregnant. Hysterical hour.
n/a Bushmage 2017-05-21
damn, this might be the first comedy special i ever heard. I bought the fucking CD copy of Skanks because it had a hilarious album cover. Thanks for the reminder this exists
n/a HitEmWTheHeinnn 2017-05-21
Oooooh you're welcome faggot, have a nice day.
n/a RabboRibbo 2017-05-21
All three Mitch Hedberg albums are worth your time.
n/a McGowan9 2017-05-21
As has been mentioned, Stanhope - especially - No Refunds, Deadbeat Hero and Beer Hall Putsch. Jeselnik's last one - Thoughts and Prayers was strong - much more "jokes" based than Stanhope but funny.
Frankie Boyle and Jimmy Carr are good too but, if you're not a Brit, some of the cultural references might go over your head.
n/a cbanks420lol 2017-05-21
Chappelle's The Age of Spin is the better of the two new specials he released.
n/a bonecrushingkisses 2017-05-21
John Mulaney New in Town and Tom Segura Mostly Stories. Joe Rogan's Triggered was his best work yet.
n/a Proudofyourboy 2017-05-21
Gay, gayer, gayest
n/a bonecrushingkisses 2017-05-21
My bad. I mean Jeselnik dead babies and stuff
n/a LarryNozowitz 2017-05-21
Attel
n/a Leonard_Betts 2017-05-21
New York Story was great Road Work-Dave Attell
n/a Griz-x 2017-05-21
I know that Metzger sucks now but White Precious is hands down one of the funniest specials I've seen. It's sad that Metzger went all SJW after that.
n/a Flangirlamt 2017-05-21
I second this - White Precious was amazing. I don't know if saying he "went all SJW" is the right way to describe his obnoxious behavior these days, but he definitely does tend to suck outside of stand-up.
n/a MCLyleStyle 2017-05-21
Yeah metzger is a prime target of the SJWs, don't forget his epic rants shitting on feminist bloggers and defending accused rapists. I think this sub hates on him because he refers to non comedians as civilians and faggy shit like that. He is also not a fan of the words we use to describe his special pal sherrod
n/a deanthecleanmachine 2017-05-21
the 1978 superman
n/a OswaldTheLucky 2017-05-21
Back when he was still able to do stand up
n/a PissedOnBible 2017-05-21
Delirious from Eddie Murphy. Raw is pretty great too.
n/a Jackthejew 2017-05-21
Mostly stories by tom segura is pretty great
n/a Pug_123 2017-05-21
'Killing Me Softly' and 'For What its Worth' by Dave Chapelle are the two best stand up specials I've ever seen.
n/a OswaldTheLucky 2017-05-21
Mitch Hedbergs Comedy Central Special is a classic.
n/a puppy_action_team 2017-05-21
Dave Chapelle: killin' them softly.
n/a holdon_holdon_holdon 2017-05-21
The one amy schumer did with the jokes about her pussy. I forgot which one but it was hilarious.
n/a BamMargeraOfficial 2017-05-21
Tier 1:
Anything from Stanhope, Jeselnik. Eddie Pepitone - In Ruins
Tier 2:
Jim Jefferies - Freedumb, Jimmy Carr - Funny Business, Attel's Netflix special i don't remember what the fuck it's called, the new Chapelle Netflix specials.
Everything else is garbage as far as i am concerned.
n/a grocery_man 2017-05-21
Richard Pryor Live In Concert is the best stand up performance of all time.
n/a WhereDaPinkAt 2017-05-21
There are a lot of great specials out there but chances are that you might have seen them if you are a fan of the greats like Stanhope and Attell. I would recommend this lesser known Otto and George special: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RssRtN_HnMA
n/a Reaktif 2017-05-21
Doug Stanhope - Before turning the gun on himself (bootleg set, Manchester uk)
n/a CasinoIndian 2017-05-21
Elaine Boosler: Live at Wembley

Elephant in the room
n/a RabboRibbo 2017-05-21
Bob Odenkirk's album, "Amateur Hour" is short and mostly hilarious. It should appeal to those who like Norm's stuff.

n/a RabboRibbo 2017-05-21
Any Stephen Wright special if you like deadpan, surreal one-liners.

n/a RabboRibbo 2017-05-21
He's an acquired taste, and is more popular among European audiences, but Emo Phillips has one of the funniest albums of all time.
He's like a thinking man's Chip Chipperson.

Tracey Morgans staying alive?
n/a SpaceCaseBassFace 2017-05-21
Live at the village underground by Robert Kelly, Bare by Jim Jefferies, this clip of Patrice O'Neal berating an audience of deaf aristocrats, Bill Burr and Vos are in it too, Captain Miserable by Dave Attell, Live at Rascal's by Richard Ira Vos, Deadbeat Hero by Doug Stanhope, anything besides Oslo by Doug Stanhope. Tater Salad by Ron White is good. It's the Whiskey Talkin' by Artie Lange is alright.
Bill Hicks is great if you wanna watch a comedy special on LSD and keep a straight face. Neal Brennan sucks and I wish his depression was as incurable as he makes it out to be, because then he wouldn't talk about it and would've offed himself long ago.
