Doug was so damn good on the show. He used to just phone in when he was drunk/high at 3 in the morning but all of that stopped once Jimmy just had to preach about AA to him. He talked down to the dude like he understood more about alcohol/drug addiction than Doug.
He doesn't anymore. A few months ago he mentioned valid criticism online and his phone specifically and described it as valid criticism. He has been trying to stay away from his phone since he moved to the boards.

100% Sam would have Jocktobered the Jim and Sam show. I can't listen to it even when they have good comedians in, because it's so fucking lame. Honestly, I'd like to try listening to a morning show hosted by 2 boring women, and see how similar it is.
He probably meant he's not on his phone during the show "anymore".
Once he started getting called out for being on his phone and hardly being present even though his name is technically first on the show, that's when he decided to be a big boy and sit behind the console. All in all, it's still Sam's show.
