as for the second part, don't you find it just a little bit strange that Anthony knows absolutely nothing about his people's politics, history, culture or language? How has no one acknowledged this?

No, he's a self-proclaimed Alan Alda Italian, whatever the fuck that means. What I think Matarese means is that he's ashamed that he's a dumb guido, so he tries to seem smart by pretending to be a complex neurotic Jew. But the more he does it, the more he seems like a dumb dago. After all, he's been doing this self-analysis thing for decades, but he seems to lack any self-awareness. So he's not good at the self-analysis even though he's married to a therapist. Which he means his neuroses are all imaginary or he's just a dumb ginzo who got an identity crisis watching Alan Alda in a Woody Allen movie.

The northeastern Italian-American culture offers little to society than cuisine. Otherwise it can be reduced to pretending to be a mobster, living with their mother proudly beyond an appropriate age, hair gel and heart disease. The women can be attractive but it will be diminished with wretched accents, guidette fashion sense and awful personality and priorities.

It's also Italian. I don't claim to speak Italian, but I know Italians in NJ who call themselves Sicilianos, and know a little bit about Latin and how certain languages are related. Did you consider that these two swarthy romantic languages have some proper nouns spelled commonly?

What? Fucking no they don't. I am Italian, and I speak Spanish and the plural version of nouns in Spanish and Italian are completely different. In italian you say Siciliani, Spaniards say Sicilianos (with a soft c).

They're a genetic mix of Greeks and North Africans. Although on the eastern part of the island they tend to be white because Northern Italians were transplanted there a long ass time ago.
