Can anyone explain why Opie's new twitter banner is a picture from "Smokey and the Bandit"?

Did he only now realize that in the previous banner he looked like a corpse? And why this movie? Is it related to something they discussed on the show?
I am absolutely obsessed with this. I refuse to believe it's an outright appeal to truckers, and that somehow he fancies himself in on the CB-radio chatter with these guys, sort of like they all just hang on the waves.

The show would reference this movie all the time back in the good ol' days. They even had a bunch of clips from it on their soundboards. Also, one of the stars of the movie (Paul Williams) was a popular guest on the show.
