The difference is Patrice didn't take himself so seriously and was coming from the right place. He stood for the freedom to be honest and real about everything, particularly race and gender. He was also naive and thought the unfairness he saw in life was a conspiracy, but he wasn't married to that shit and wasn't a self righteous queer about it, he made it funny most of the time.
I liked Patrice a lot, but I never really got the extent of the praise most people showered him with. Yes, he spoke his mind and all that, but I think Otto deserved just as much respect.
I always got the feeling that if Patrice were still around, he'd be viewed similarly to Bob Kelly. Don't take this the wrong way.

It's hilarious that Patrice is so beloved by both the proud boys and /pol/ when he was everything they hate.
He was an actual cuckold, thought blacks were being held down by whites, preferred to work with Jews and was an extremely lazy black guy.
