Remember what high hopes most of us had for the Jim and Sam show?

Boy were we wrong.

A couple of lazy, self-indulgent hacks who would rather have their masturbation targets on (wrestlers, UFC guys and mentally ill porn chicks) than CQ and other comics.

They could have had a funny show and buried Opie. As it stands, he'll probably still be there after they're cancelled. They made a product for them, not their audience.

Now, as their staff flee the sinking ship, like toddlers from a Vatican dungeon, the end is near. Good.

Remember when we supported Anthony?

I'd listen to Anthony if he stopped talking politics. I don't care if he bit some crazy chick with a dick.

I actually enjoy a little bit of political talk, but he is obsessed. Also he doesn't realize an Anthony Cumia endorsement of a politician or policy actually harms it.

a little bit goes a long way, but Ant isn't exactly a firm believer in "living in moderation."

The form it took on O&A was bearable and often entertaining. The shit he does now, or the last time I watched anyway, is true...ummm...shit. yeah.

Shit, i like him just the way he is, racism/domestic abuse/trap fucking/rib kicking and all... i just enjoy picking on him. I would probably even listen to his show from time to time if it wasn't behind a paywall.

I remember when 2 people and Bobo supported Anthony.

I don't think any of you really wanted to support this dreck of a show, you were just so desperate to get behind something not involving Opie.

You may be on to something there.

That's exactly what it was. I've always hated Sam. I think he's awful. I was just happy that Opie got kicked off his own show and replaced with the mongoloid intern. But I wasn't going to actually listen to this shit. I could barely take it when Sam tried to weasel his way onto fourth mic, let alone being the host of the show.

No, actually. I liked Sam. He added a ton of material to later O&A when they got lazy. And I figured Jim would have a renewed drive to make the show great. Plus they did several shows together across the channel since Ant left that were top notch.

I have extremely little faith in people, yet somehow they managed to break my faith some more. But whatever. It's a giant missed opportunity.

😂😂😂 what's the excuse for all the retards that played the tiff 🐶 barking game?

Honestly have they ever addressed the issue of why they almost never have comedians on? I know the glory days of Patrice, Colin, Burr, Vos, Kelly, Dipaolo, and Louis CK shitting on each other for three hours are never coming back but come on. Is it because basically every comic today has their own podcast so they don't feel the need to do radio anymore? Or is it Jimmy being insecure/intimidated around newer successful comedians?

Someone called in and asked. Sam said, basically, they're trying to do something else. The mutant basically said, those who listen to hear the likes of Colin will always listen but they want to grow their audience by moving in a different direction. He then compared the larger number of views some dumb wrestler got on their youtube channel to a video with Colin.

In short, fuck the listeners who know us, they're idiots who will always tune in. I want the WWE fans. It seems to be largely Sam's plan, Jim's just coasting and happy to still have a radio gig. We all know the worm doesn't like to make waves.

Seriously, the fallout from anthony's firing has resulted in the worst of all possible outcomes.

Between the three shows borne from the ashes of o&a, they now do 8 hours of broadcasting a day, and rarely is any of it listenable.

We have cumia talking to himself about libtards for 2 hours, the opie show forcing so much fake laughter he must be going into laugh track production, and somehow that twerp sam is hosting the morning show, leaving jim with the only possible co-host that brings less to the table than opie.

The only way it could be worse is if we were forced to listen to it all.

This happens in nearly every medium/genre, but has rarely been as noticeable in comedy and radio/podcasting.

There are a ton of mediocre comics that you could force together to make a viable podcast, but instead, a single mediocre comic has to have his own podcast that is even worse (but still capable of selling MeUndies and Tushy.com. It has nothing to do with the "art" or the "fans"....and everything to do with profitability, ease of operation, and total freedom. Everybody knows that Opie and Ant could get back together...make better shows and millions of dollars in the process. They dont wanna!!! They want it to be easy and they want total freedom to talk racial politics, make funny voices, and have Sherrod on all day instead. Not having those things would be deal breakers for people who would rather rub elbows with Vic Henley, WWE/Porn stars, and their collection of ladyboys and stupid family members.

Bert Kreischer and Tom Segura would be excellent as co-hosts, but Tom would rather talk about poop with his wife and Bert would rather talk about himself with a guest once a week. The Legion of Skanks (with a comic guest...Ant being a good example) is a great example of a show that is at least doing it the right way. I dont really want to listen to 2-3 hours of Luis talk about himself, Dave rambling about politics he barely understands, or Big Jay doing stupid voices that sound like a 10 year old Dan Soder....but if you put those three guys together with a subject to make fun of or a guest to riff off of, it is a funny show.

Bring on the Opie&Sam and Jim&Anthony shows.

The end is nigh(er)

I put it on the other morning and they were encouraging whatever nobody they had in studio for all them to sit around and do radio in their underwear. Holy shit, I couldn't change the channel fast enough. Who the fuck wants to listen to that?

TOTALLY NUDE RADIO!

Their personal pet project parts of the show are annoying but they're usually quick, and they're not on every single day. (Although it feels like it sometimes)

I still love the show, I just tap out/change to something else if they get down one of their boring rabbit holes. And yes, it is curious why they don't have more great NY comics on like O&A used to, esp when they're Jimmy's friends.

All of these faggots need to get back together to form one bad-to-moderately bad show, instead of having 20 awful shows.

Spot on analysis. I used to watch TACS every day and if it got too political or unfunny, I would tune out. It's gotten to the point where I don't even check the website to see who has a guest spot on the show anymore. It's only ever funny for a couple of minutes at a time before it's back to heavy politics or whatever Ant is mad about now.

It's a shame because when he gets together with Jim or any of the old O&A classics, you can tell he still has a lot of miles in the tank. It just doesn't translate onto his own solo platform.

Same story with Jim and Sam. I've been petering out on it over the last few weeks because the guests are terrible, Jimmy feels like it's necessary to berate staff on air instead of off air. I'm noticing Sams tendencies as host and he's starting to really bug me. He fills air space with a lot of droll. Repeating/over-explaining basic things he says. Pushing unfunny bits and inside jokes. His over enunciating of every single little consonant in every single word like some robot. Not to mention his general personality as a whole.

Travis is perfect. The Tefft can do no wrong. But on what's supposed to be two comedy shows, I find myself searching desperately for the little morsels of comedy thats buried within each episode.

Uhhh Sam is so annoying. This post made me physically ill. I finally understand why I don't like him. He needs to stop repeating, and overexplaining EVERYthing, and just shut the fuck up and disappear.

I was all in with the The Jim and Sam Show, I was howling at first - then Jimmy started kvetching about his iPhone with Sam offering the most inept tech support. At this point, fellas, I simply had to tap out.

I still listen. The show's not that terrible. It's better than what Opie is doing.

The failure of these 3 separate shows shows the brilliance of the O&A formula:

Anthony: funny and quick-witted, but can become obsessive if he's not reigned in taken down the occasional peg.

Jimmy: good at off the cuff observations, but not well read or informed so he needs a guy like Anthony to supply knowledge and substance.

Opie: WE GOT LADY TRUCKER CALLING IN!
