it was the same old story and the action scenes stunk ... futility & lack of closure blah blah blah ... generation kill did it way better

I liked generation kill until the one guy was talking about how he wanted to ride his motorcycle and said something like "just the wind in my hair and nobody can touch me."

apparently many Iraq vets can't even watch Generation Kill because it's so unrealistic

Discovery is pretty cool on netflix.

They put a shitload of awesome WW2 documentaries from great filmmakers in there in support of their original doc "Five Came Back." Although it's a vey Cumia thing to watch they're all great.

The best is "Let there be light" which is about PTSD. You see real soldiers come all fucked up and twitchy and you see how they tried to help them. There's a lot of the movie that Paul Thomas Anderson used for The Master. It's directed by John Huston and has a lot of really surreal shots and harsh lighting.

Yes, I love it. Although the story kind of sags near the end. So he runs away for seemingly no reason, stays away years, comes back for one meeting, and gets kicked out anyway? Also I wish they would've explained the religion more. The stuff with Amy Adams reading porn, and him knocking on the wood and the window.

Haven't seen it since i saw it at the theater. The acting, directing was great. Something stuck with me from that movie, even though it was scattered like you said

Inherent vice was better

Lots of PTA fanboys consider inherent vice his worse without question. I thought it was alright but liked The Master much more.
