Your haplogroup is dependent on your direct paternal ancestor. Mine was some Roman/Italian guy, if you're German you're likely R1b like me but have the U106 designation. Basically your ancestors hail from Southern Sweden and moved into mainland Germany.
So no, technically speaking, you're not a dirty Southern 'European' like Caliph Antwan Al-Qumiyahh. You're Northern European.

Dude I literally just said it's MTDNA. That haplogroup is traced through your mothers mothers mothers mother. So on and so forth. You just proved me right, and we're agreeing here too. So your paternal ancestry proves your German, whereas your maternal ancestry points towards being Greek.

I looked to be sure, then replied with links to articles indicating otherwise, including one specifically about a maternally inherited group J (which you said in your first comment I couldn't have inherited from a grandmother).
Yeah, you said mtDNA, but you said it to refute my assertion that haplogroups are not limited to paternal lines.

Male haplogroups indicate migration by and large, case in point look at the Angles Jutes and Saxons conquering England or the Lombards taking up huge swathes of Northern Italy, or the Normans settling in Southern Italy.
