Yikes, what crap. I thought maybe when he brought on MC Serch it would be as a counterpoint to what everyone else was saying about cultural appropriation, or at least to introduce some nuance. Instead, Serch basically says he has a ghetto pass because of when and where he grew up, and that he produced Illmatic, but every other white person is in violation.
Moshe's reaction to that line looked confounded/guilty.
Fuck Serch. He can't come out and say it, but I have the feeling that besides his "ghetto pass" he doesn't consider himself "white" because he's jewish. That's why he says "they" and not "we".
