Goodfellas is a pretty straight up account of the book Wiseguy .
Casino has the names of the casinos changed (obviously, but when. Frank Vincent was on in the xm days he didn't understand it). But also, there are merged and changed characters. It has like four major figures named Tony, and it's WAY more complicated with all the Teamster pension loan bullshit and Alan Glick (who I think is Kevin Pollack in the movie, but the book goes deeper into him). One of the things I seem to remember is that Pesci and his brother's demise was pretty much correct, but they didn't actually know who did it.
Next time you watch Casino, look at the lighting... like when people are at the craps table, its like an old spotlight. First movie where i noticed lighting because its so different looking.
How the hell did it take you this long to watch Casino? By the way, watch Taxi Driver if you haven't already. I enjoy it better than Goodfellas or Casino.
