I almost enjoy the fact that he talks about interdimensional vampires and gay frogs. It's almost as if he's signaling the smarter people in his audience that we can enjoy him for entertainment's sake and not take him too seriously.
Alex is severely autistic. I don't think he's crazy, I think he was a shut-in and a big reader of history as a kid. He's autistic about history and gets paranoid about anything that happens that resembles the early stages of something that turned out being horrible. He is clearly making a career of it and anybody who listens to him regularly with a critical ear can hear him make minor contradictions that just assure you he's just making a career, but god damn does he make some compelling shit out of world events.
