I was thinking more in line with early Two Tone, Specials, some of the punk ska we all grew up with in the 90's. I don't know WHAT you'd call Goldfinger. Crap? Same thing with that Less Than Jake shit. These bands should "take their loss and beat it", as Colin would say.
No joke: that band makes 15-20k a night for one show. In the last year, they've played MORE THAN 50 TIMES in 12 months. Using that spectrum, and the figurative number 50: they make anywhere between 750k-1m A YEAR playing new shit only their fans know, and old shit everyone else knows but no normal people care about anymore (if they ever did). That's fucking nuts for a band everyone thought was dead. I guess it's a testament to the active ska scene. But Jesus...Bosstones probably make double that, plus they're also on Jimmy Kimmel, so I'm sure thats a nice steady paycheck regardless.
Haha holy shit. I saw them in the late 90's at a venue that used to be a post office. The stage was 6 inches off the floor and there were 40 or 50 people there. I think the ticket was 12 bucks. How the fuck are they making more money now? I'd say good for them but the lead singer was a real dickhead
