Who the fuck even wanted to see that movie anyway? Anime is a niche market and it was stupid of the studio to go and spend $100 million on a movie like that.

I actually went and saw it. It wasn't bad

The trailer looked like a Resident Evil movie. Probably tanked because it looks indistinguishable from any other flashy sci-fi/action movie.

It's actually a faithful remake of the animated movie. Which is really good

I haven't seen it so it can't comment on its quality but haven't read the plot points it doesn't sound completely faithful

I was told it was almost shot frame for frame with the anime. It was a pretty cool movie, the story, vibe, and setting were all very Blade Runner-ish but that's a good thing

Who can even name a famous Japanese actor besides Jackie Chan? They need a draw so people want see this horse shit, Xhao Wang wont exactly put asses in the seats.

Jackie Chan is Chinese, sir.

I know that, I was going for a bit!

George Takei! What's some of the other Japanese-Americans we got? They act pretty good!

Toshiro Mifune? Takashi Shimura? Nevermind, they've both been dead for over 20 years....

She didnt look Asian in the cartoon.

None of them do, they're all wide eyed and not yellow

If they wanted to keep it faithful to the anime, they should have included a tentacle rape scene.

Anime characters are basically modeled after white people, why shouldn't the movies resemble that.

It's opening in China and Japan on Friday thats who it was made for and It will make a bunch of money
