The worst part of Opie's idiocy is that listening to their radio history, I get the sense that Patrice genuinely liked the guy

Sadly it looks like Opie just saw Patrice as a shuck-and-jivin' loudmouth negro. Some "friend."

What specifically about their radio history makes you think Patrice genuinely liked the guy?

Agreed. I think Patrice even said so explicitly.

But it still doesn't make for hours of phone calls. They had nothing in common. Opie didn't play video games, tended to fake knowing about the movies Patrice mentioned, certainly didn't like the same TV shows he did, disagreed with how he viewed women, wasn't going to let him bust his balls, etc. Few people have less in common then they did.

So annoying. Every fucking movie break in O&A history is filled with opie lies

I agree. In this clip, Opie assumed that Patrice was disrespecting O&A and not giving them credit for helping come up with a tv show idea. So they call him up and he gives them a full explanation, and basically says he wouldn't do that to his friends. Opie makes a point of saying he'd call him after the show to smooth things over, perhaps as a way of showing people that he and Patrice would talk on the phone.

It came off more he was just nice because Jim told him about Greggshells. He could have destroyed him countless times when he said something dumb. If he thought of him as a friend he would have treated him like Vos.

You can see in Patrice's last episode that Patrice makes fun of people he's friends with, and that's the reason for him never apologizing. Patrice didn't make fun of Opie.

And he made fun of Anthony even though nobody ever acts like they were BFF's. I'm not saying he hated him. He liked him, but in a kind of "work friend" kind of way, because they have nothing in common they could talk about much or do outside of the radio show. Was Patrice going to come over and watch The Bachelor with The Hughes family?

Patrice has went to Anthony's house at least once (more I think), Patrice never went to Opie's and was never invited.

He went once that I know of. The night Anthony made him drink a beer.
He didn't want her talking Lynsi into swinging with them.

AKA "I don't want black people near my white family"
Opie is the most racist person in history.

Guys like him respect successful people. Kim kardashian has no discernible talent or value but she knows how to make that money so she's cool
