It would be perfect if he could just get Artie's low register - Sour's voice is just too high. Everything else is perfect: the wheeze, cadence, accent, the gravel. It works here because people assume that after a drug arrest, Artie's voice might be fucked up, tired sounding, etc. but under normal circumstances, the lack of bass/depth to the voice would give it away. He's also not trailing off and mumbling as much as Artie does. And obviously, his George Takai is complete dog shit.
Howard isn't what he once was but I still listen. At last his show is still pretty good unlike everyone connected to O&A who all became a huge disappointments in the last few years.
The more I listen to Howard clips, the more I regret not getting into his show and wasting my time with O&A. Both shows turned to shit but it seems like the Stern universe had more to offer overall.
I was always a fan of both & I can honestly say without being biased Howard's show was the better of the 2 shows hands down. I never understood why some O&A fans had irrational hate towards the show, yet loved when Stern Show regulars started doing O&A. Artie, Norm, Gilbert, Florentine & many other who O&A fans love were staples on the Howard Stern Show. I think a lot of fans were brainwashed into hating on Stern & his fans but it was really a one sided battle, Howard & his fans were never really all that passionate about their feeling toward O&A or their fans.
That sums it all up, the hate was a from a single direction and the Stern camp didn't give a shit about the manufactured feud by a single milky tittied board op wearing a gay surfer's skin.
At thier peaks Howards was much better. I think the problem is that Howard hasn't been great radio since the lste 90s. He was still good but OnA imo were much better on satellite during the xm days than howard was during early sirius days
I agree that Opie & Anthony hit their stride & had their best years when they went over to satellite radio but personally I feel The Howard Stern Show peaked & was at its best with the Artie era which was the 00's.
Sour Shoes should go deep and call Judd Apatow at home and berate him for being a dirty Jew who controls Hollywood, and then tell him Crashing sucks and he's quitting.

Can't be bothered to listen to the whole thing, but does he seriously buy into this? It sounds nothing like Artie.

His Baba Booey, Scott Farrell and Chris Russo are top notch. His Artie good but he loses it at times. He's got a shit load of material though.
