I'm not someone that hates Jim Bruer, but the drop in quantity this show took when he became the host was impressive. There were literally no jokes. Just Bruer making weird sounds, and describing the next clip.

Holy shit I was just thinking about this show the other day.

Sometimes I think Patrice gets too much credit for being a "fuck you Hollywood imma be me" kind of guy. He wasn't some beacon of artistic integrity.

Gotta survive somehow.

Yeah but if your whole shtick is being a 'real ass n-person' it's pretty hypocritical.

Selling out = getting replaced by Breuer after 2 seasons, and losing out on the millions Tosh rakes in every year. I get the feeling OP is a negative type of fellow.

Making that show is literally the opposite of what selling out means.

He took that job to secure the future financial well being of his family. He made sound investments like an Escalade, rims, fancy clothes, and a giant fish tank and the Chinese guy to maintain it.

Guess not.

Patrice talked before about trying to "tapdance" for Hollywood for a period of time and not being able to do it. Webjunk apparently was from this time.

He probably had some qualms about selling out, but just being too much of an asshole who lacked the social graces required of him to schmooze properly kept him from becoming a big comedy star in his life.

He said he enjoyed doing the first season because they let him say whatever he wanted. But the second season was him tap dancing because they forced him to talk about certain shit so he quit despite making a shit ton of money

That goddamn uppity n-person

I remember Opie being way too enthusiastic about this show. "It's unbuhlievable Purtrice, this show is gunna be HUGE, trust me. sniff"

Opie was my go-to movie reviewer; whenever he praised something I avoided it like welding arcs.

If he was really the genius everyone says, he could have parlayed this show into Daniel Tosh fame and money. Instead, he felt under pay d and appreciated

It came out in 2006, fuckin' shit timing, especially for a show about the internet. Tosh came out in 2009, when the net was much more normie friendly. I mean, the first iphone came out in mid 2007; I don't know where I'm going with this thought.

You're right, internet shit didn't become truly mainstream until well into the smartphone era, late 2009/2010. Coincidentally, that's also when the sjw-type shit really ramped up.

I'd say "Well, even Patrice had to eat" but that was obviously never a problem for him.

Shut up, Hans. Don't you have some more refugees to let in?

"But... but... muh genius "keeping it realz" Patrice."

I think he talked about how he gave them an ultimatum about how he would talk about things, or they gave him a huge free space to do what he wanted and left him alone and gave him a ton of money. Could have been ona or a random interview but I know he has addressed this and how it didnt fit in with the rest of his career.

Are you trying to discredit Patrice, sir?

in 2006.

I actually liked this show. I remember my favorite bit is when he would play a clip from the kid from brooklyn.

I wish he never stopped doing the show, it could only help him. Who cares if he couldn't say Asian jokes that were barely offensive, it could have made his career if he just stayed with it.

The only time I ever heard of Patrice was because of this show, and when he left I never saw or heard anything from him again until he died.
