I think Opie was done working mornings and was done with Anthony and Jimmy by the time Tim Sabean showed up. The split shows were going to be Ant in the morning, Opie in the afternoon and what the fuck do you do with Jimmy and the show staff? Get visiting time with them like Ant and Opie are some divorced couple with a few kids?
By 2014, Opie wanted more show control and to get away from Ant. Its certainly why Mr. Whatever Effort did jack shit to save Ant's job.

It would have split to Opie & Friends 6-9 and Anthony & Jim 9-11.

It still had good Moments until the end. Tequila and donuts was in last year or so and so wasn't Lady Di intern. Many memorable moments after 2012.
