They play lots of YouTube videos but why don't they use YouTube Red to avoid the advertisements?

No clue, I installed it and don't remember changing anything, haven't ever seen a youtube ad with it installed.

Hmm, maybe I didn't notice, but I haven't seen another advertisement since I added some filters to uBlock Origin and checked "I am an advanced user."
