Maybe they figured way more people would listen to the live show, so it wouldn't ruin the jokes for most people. The bigger question is why did they ruin the live show with ear piercing stunts, Dennis falcone, 2 babbling horrible whores, and tired Bobo sex stunts. You had Colin and Anthony. There was no need for that amateur hour crap. Matarese actually had better production value. This seemed like a really watered down amateur hour high school av club remake of the negligee & underpants party Stern did 4 decades ago.
Also bringing in any woman (Christina, rich and covino intern, dating game girls, any porn whore etc) and Bobo always makes Anthony think he's competing sexually with Bobo and he's much meaner in an unfunny way towards ol 'Bo.
It's maybe smart. You know there's going to be a huge come down on Monday when we go back to the usual show of Sam having boring Trump updates, Jim rambling about "nice meaty pussy lips" and UFC interviews. So you don't want regular listeners to be too blown away by the show.
Sam loves to take victory laps when he thinks he did something great like this or Nancy Grace. He also has to be the one to tell it, notice how he cut off the callers who were there once they started to mention a topic so he could steal their story. "So Sandy K.." "that's right, then sandy Kane... "
