Probably was caused by overcompensation but Moonlight actually was better than La La Land. the first half of Lion was actually the best picture. Unfortunately it had a second half.
I don't agree, I think La La Land was incredibly well done for an original musical, bringing back old forms and the performances were exceptional (Stone being the best), never detected a sense of pretentiousness throughout the whole thing, I think it's so good it could go down as a new classic
Can you believe that people are saying that Denzel deserved Best Actor and he was robbed and Casey is just a "mediocre white male". Denzel already has 2 fuckin oscars. I haven't seen either film but they keep robbing Denis Villeneuve for Director nomination.
