I never thought it would happen but over the past couple of weeks I've stopped listening to Sam and Jimmy, and had stopped listening to Opie except for clips a long time ago. I started listening to the O and A show in 2008 and have listened to every episode since, at least once, if not several times. There is just no chemistry with any of the post O and A line ups. Sam and Jim has devolved into the worst incarnation of the shows. Jimmy has destroyed a once funny show and replaced it with a product that goes no where, and he is one of the least interesting most desperate people I've observed, you can't rely on the past when you didn't work to make the past successful. Clear case of riding the coattails and then being shown for a serious lack of talent. I pray Sirius replaces the show with something mildly entertaining. I want O and A back, and there seems to be some chance of that happening.

But the best part of Opie and Anthony for its entire second half of existence was Anthony and Jim. Why would you want just Opie and Anthony? Serious question, I honestly don't get it.

Jimmy doesn't add content, he's like a sound board, and Ant was good at programming the sound board. It would be fine if he was the "third mic" but Artie or million other people who are more connected with life could fill the role too.

The best shows were the "Nopie" episodes. Ant and Jimmy riffing off of each other without Opie to ruin the flow was amazing. So you'd think the two of them together would always be great, but when Jim guested on Ant's show, neither was funny. So if the best elements of the O and A show are no longer funny when together, why would you think that a reformation of the show with its worst element added would somehow be at all entertaining? Look, it's sad to admit it,but something happened to Jim and Ant in the last few years that has killed whatever wit and humor they once had. Neither of them are going to be funny or entertaining anymore, with or without Opie or anyone else they're paired with. Having said that, I would still like to see O and A reunite. Not because I think the show will be good, but as I've said before, because I love the idea of Ant being Opie's boss.
