While Opie almost certainly bought fake followers, these sites are inaccurate. They use very loose rules for what determines a fake account. Having an egg avatar or not tweeting that often is considered fake to them, even though most people sign up for twitter just to follow people and not to tweet. They also only analyze a very small amount of accounts (I think it was in the range of 1k to 10k). These same sites will say the same about Katy Perry or Lady Gaga.

It's the old show account for Opie and Anthony and Opie and Jim. They have just changed the name, so that's why he kept the followers.
