I was reading the youtube comments, and some people have a point about Artie being kind of annoying in his delivery these days (wheezing, slurring speech etc.) But, I don't know, for some reason when him and Gilbert get into a room, its just fucking hilarious nonsense no matter how fucked up Artie is. Repeated jokes or not, this is funny shit.
Frank Santopadre, comedy writer and Gilbert's Amazing Colossal cohost. Seems like a really nice guy. I suspect Dara Gottfried put in a plea, since she and Frank kind of pull the strings on that show. It's still very funny, but it helps to have an interest in the golden eras of show business.
I remember also laughing my ass off the time Artie went on Gilbert's podcast and they kept doing impressions of Tracy Morgan also brain-damaged from his car wreck in a super racist "oooh lorddy" shuck n jivin' black guy voice. Did Stern really turn all PC pussy and ban these 2 from the show?
Yeah since being brainwashed by a cultist twat who stole Gary's office, Howard is a starfucker who mingles with the beautiful idiots instead of mocking them. Guys like Artie and Gilbert are strictly verboten. What a golden opportunity Howard missed to get on-air closure with AL about the insane end of his employment there. Gilbert was famously told by Gary that the show wasn't booking comics anymore on a day when Chelsea Handler later appeared.
Also, Howard apparently gave Gilbert the ol' brush-off when he saw him backstage at Radio City Music Hall (during the America's Got Talent days, I think).
It's understandable; Gilbert's only been on the Stern show like 50 times, and was one of the best guests ever.
Howard always has Apatow in to promote his shitty projects. Apatow, Pete Holmes, and Artie are going to be in the building for a Bennington town hall to promote their new show Crashing next week. Still unclear at this point if Apatow is going to muscle his way on to Hoo Hoo. Marci Turk is going to be in a real bind on how to best manipulate the puppet strings.
Artie may be funny sometimes but his wheezy fake laughter after every one of his own punchlines is unbearable to listen to after a few minutes. I don't remember him doing this on Stern but he's always done it in his stand up and I wish he would stop doing that shit. The one good thing about this podcast is all the talk about Howard and niggers inspired me to listen to the old Billy West - Marge Schott clips on YouTube.
