I think Sirius was not going to re-sign Anthony. And Anthony already knew it. So he did this little publicity stunt on twitter with the black hooker incident. He planned on doing something like that ahead of time. Then he got fired, and got a shit load of publicity for his podcast network. I work in the field of online video, and I've found that literally 75% of our customers are outside of the United States.
Sirius/XM can't reach those customers, but Anthony Cumia can.

I think we'd all like to see Opie kick rocks. There was a time when a lot of us would have been damn excited to see them get back together, but that was a long time ago. However, this doesnt surprise me because Anthony always flat out said he'd consider working with Opie again. Whether it's because he thinks he'd do better with him or he's just not a person to hold a grudge, I'm don't know, but he never closed the door on the possibility of them getting back together.
But I still think there's a silver lining in this. Yeah, Ant coming to the rescue, means we wont get to see a penniless, jobless Opie crying in his fruity beer, but if he works with Ant again, they wont be partners, Ant, the man Opie called human garbage and swore he'd never even be in the same room with ever again, will be Opie's goddamn boss. That's gotta be worth something.

Anthony isn't that kind of guy. We all know Opie is a piece of shit, but lets look at it from Anthony's perspective.
He's known the guy thirty years. They have a wild history together. And as much of a cliche as it sounds, the fact is that Anthony would never have had a radio career if it wasn't for Opie.
Yes they hit the rocks and yes Opie very clearly fucked him over. But when you look at everything in context and from Anthony's point of view, I don't see him turning down an opportunity to reconcile with Opie, even if Opie is just doing it because his career is in the toilet and he realizes he needed Anthony all along (even if he'll never admit it).
Deep down, Anthony is a sentimental prick. Also he has no family to fall back on.
