Jim & Sam hardouts for Ellis' show SUCK when the guests are good and the show is flowing! Last week it was the F. Murray Abraham interview. Today, Dan Soder was in studio with Bill Burr on the phone. BWAANT!! BWAANT!! from the klaxon.

The only fix I can see is if J&S start an hour earlier and give enough buffer time to go over before ellis's shit show begins. They can just play 45 mins of weekly best clips if they don't go over time. The best part would be it would eliminate Opies replay before J&S and that would be another fuck you to Opie.

Jim and Sam said they asked to start at 8. It's a stupid move.

Indeed, 8-11 is such an odd slot, I'm surprised Sirius went for it. I could see starting at 7, but 8?

Perhaps, if they have a general idea about the guest schedule, they could work out a sliding schedule. Where if they knew they had a particularly good one, they could get in at 7 or 7:30, and move the guest up. Tell Opie to fuck himself if he whines, a good live show should always have preference.

The only other option, is maybe work it out that they drop it the radio side, but offer an extended version as a web extra or something.

Only a stupid move if you don't consider the show plays outside the New York area.

Starting at 8 on the east coast means starting at 5 on the west coast and more of the show is playing during that commute.

Guests also don't like getting up early, so the later into the morning you go the better guests you can get.

Fair enough, I forgot that they want the West coast in there too. I still tend to think of them as just an East Coast show.

but surely guests are on the east coast promotional tour when in ny so don't care about how many are listening on west coast?

More listeners = better. Your point doesn't make sense.

I'm sure the main reason Jim wanted to start eight is because he's working comedy clubs at night.

But starting at 8am leaves-out everyone on the east coast whose workday begins at 8am. There are a lot of us.

They don't care about you though. They care about maximizing how many people hear them at one time in the morning.

More people listening = more/better advertising = more money = better guests

The spoiled pussies want their extra hour to sleep. I have to start at 7am and I'd love to start at 8. I have a responseanility to uphold I'm a trustworthy matter. Those panini machines have a specific warm up procedure.

You cant fuck with the bosses start time man.

I'm kind of ambivalent because the channel WAS OpieRadio, and now it's something else. If we have deal with the consequences, at least there's always that consolation. That douche has to finish out his contract knowing he's NOT, WELCOME. About time something like that happened.

Obviously it'd be better if Ellis wasn't involved in any way, but I'd still prefer this setup to hearing "It's Jim Norton and Sam Roberts on Opie Radio one-oh-threeeeeee". By like, a lot.

no everything has gotten worse and worse and the ultimate fuck you to old O&A listeners in bringing jason ellis on to fuck over our fun time

for the simple fact opieradio is no more, and his lifeboat of a show is sinking. what more could we ask.

To me the simplest solution is allow them to go over and just put all of it up on the YouTube channel and OnDemand, like I believe they do with Real Time. They would just need to make sure the backend guests know that there is a chance a portion of their interview will not appear on SXM airwaves but instead may fall within those other airings.

They don't share the studio with Ellis so they can just fade into the next show and keep doing what they're doing without even knowing on their end.

I've got a solution, kick Ellis off the channel completely and just bring Bennington onto the channel in its regular timeslot 12-3. Use the 11-12 hour for best of/crossover with Ronnie. It won't happen because apparently retards are running Sirius, but a boy can dream. Bennington doesn't come close to what Ron and Fez was, but I prefer hearing Gail agree with her dad for 3 hours over Jason Ellis.

look at you with the radio lingo

opie ruined this channel

Member when Jim rushed Norm out while him and CQ were on for an interview wit Bork Lesnar?

I 'member.

I love the word "klaxon." So thanks for that.

It really does blow that guests as great as F murray and Billl Burr have been getting cut off...its kind of embarassing.

Does Ellis even have guests on? I am sure he does but have not listened enough to know

Had Andy dick on today... Ahhh boooo...

I think the warnings are hilarious though.

I for one enjoy the Denny alarm.
