The heroin stories get a bit old. He was a lot sharper during his prime years on Howard. Much like Ant and Jim, he works best when there's a weak link in the room to make fun of. On that recent appearance, he continued to bash Joe long after Ant and Jim started to pull back out of pity.

If Artie and Jim didn't have connections to radio, they'd both be middle acts or thereabouts. Artie isn't a good traditional comic, he fibs, and recrafts his old jokes multiple times to get laughs.

Where he, Norton (and Jackie Martling) shine is that they are really good off the cuff. All are at their best spur of the moment.
